The kids, the grandparents and I drove to see Thomas the Tank Engine again in North Carolina this summer.  Last year it was cloudy and cool with some humidity.  This year it was just plain hot!

The ride in the coach was just a short mile long "journey" down the track and back.  Probably plenty for the younger riders.  The view is not very interesting until we get to the river, which is quite lovely.

The river!  Pretty, ain't it?

Thankfully, with such a short ride, it's nice to have some fun, free stuff for the kids to do afterwards.  There are train sets to play with, bounce houses, slides, bubbles, Meet Sir Topham Hatt, and...

Ice Cream!  Although, the ice cream was not free.

Duncan, enjoying playing with the Lego train set.

And what's a festival without a test of strength?  Miranda wielded the hammer.  She raised it, and it came crashing down!  She successfully made the bell ring!  My little princess is also tough as nails.  Although, I noticed that every kid was successful, and that there was a secret button near the fellow that was overseeing the test.  Heehee!
